The Volvo Group is looking for a tax manager with broad experience in Swedish as well as international taxation to join the Group Tax Department at the Volvo Group Headquarters in Gothenburg. The Group Tax Department has the overall responsibility for all tax matters relating to the operation of the Volvo Group. This position offers you an excellent opportunity to work with a broad variety of interesting and challenging tax issues at Sweden’s largest company. In your role, you form part of a global team of approximately 35 highly experienced tax experts, out of which around 10 are located at the Headquarter in Gothenburg.
In this position you will work on Swedish as well as international tax matters. The work includes, for example, assisting in:
Internal advisory and support to a number of internal Group Functions and Business Areas on day-to-day operational tax matters
Issues relating to withholding taxes and foreign tax credits
Governance of the cash tax position of the Swedish legal entities e.g. by being involved in the Group’s group contributions
In cooperation with Corporate Finance, secure an efficient legal and capital structure of the Group’s domestic and foreign entities
Internal advisory in ad-hoc projects such as restructurings, mergers & acquisitions
Provide support in tax risk analyses and the tax risk reporting process
Governance and quality assurance of the tax returns of the Group’s Swedish legal entities
Manage reporting requirements under mandatory disclosure rules
You will work with several experienced tax colleagues and gradually take on responsibility of different areas. The work will also be conducted in close cooperation with a number of other internal functions throughout the Group such as Accounting & Company Control, Corporate Finance, Reporting and Legal as well as the Group’s various Business Areas.

If you are the one we are looking for, you have an academic degree in law or business administration/finance and at least 5 years’ experience in the area of taxation, typically from tax work within a large multinational, a tax advisory firm and/or the tax authority. You have good knowledge of Swedish corporate income tax law and are also experienced in international taxation.
As a person you are able to work independently, yet you communicate easily with various members in the organization. Further, you are structured, responsible, dedicated and proactive. You are an analytical problem-solver with good judgement and strong social skills. You manage to work and deliver well under tight deadlines and in stressful situations with the ability to direct and manage complex tax matters. You have excellent Swedish and English language skills both orally and in writing. You have a strong ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and with different nationalities and cultures.
