The Corporate Standards department is a Volvo Group-common resource organized within Group Trucks Technology, with the mission to secure quality and reduce product costs through standardization. Our stakeholders are mainly product development departments within the Volvo Group. We develop standards and provide training in connection with the developed standards in close cooperation with our stakeholders.
The challenge you will meet is to handle complexity – the opportunity is global networking with colleagues from all Volvo Group Business areas to reach results! You will work in close collaboration with colleagues from, e.g., Trucks, Construction Equipment, Penta and Buses. You will be part of an enthusiastic team of experts in a wide range of technical areas


Role description
Develop and maintain Volvo Group standards and design guidelines in your area of expertise e.g. regarding Dimensional and geometrical specifications drawing rules and documentation systems.
Provide training and technical advice to users of standards, e.g. design engineering, purchasing, aftermarket, etc.
Establish and lead cross-functional Volvo Group networks to develop standards and support the implementation of the standards.
Represent Corporate Standards in Volvo Group forums in your area of expertise
Represent the Volvo Group in national, and sometimes international, standardization forums and network with universities and external institutes

Qualifications:
MSc or PhD Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education.
Excellent oral and writing proficiency in English and Swedish

Experience
More than 5 years’ experience within the area of mechanical design and documentation
Good knowledge in the Volvo groups product development process
Experience from 2D and 3D product documentation
Experience from production is a merit

Knowledge
Very good knowledge in drawing rules and GD&T
Very good knowledge in engineering quality tools
Good knowledge in the Volvo Group documentation systems
