SSAB - Procurement Director
SSAB is undertaking a strategic roadmap to revolutionize iron- and steelmaking, and to be the world’s first steel company to deliver iron ore-based fossil-free steel to the market in 2026. We are looking for a highly motivated person to join us in this journey as Procurement Director of Group Procurement. The position can be located in Raahe, Luleå, Oxelösund, Borlänge, Hämeenlinna, Stockholm or Helsinki.
We are looking for a highly motivated person with leadership skills that exceeds our expectation to lead the Group Procurement team as Procurement Director. You will be responsible for the common sustainability processes, systems and centralized data of SSAB’s Global procurement functions and the strategical framework around those.
You will have a key role for ensuring SSAB’s Responsible Sourcing strategy development and implementation in the divisions, through compliant and effective global processes and systems. You will work in global cross-functional network within the company with responsibility of a team currently consisted by Sustainability Manager, two Project Managers and System Developer. You will report to the Director of Raw Material and Energy Procurement.
This role demands that you can work independently and by that, you will have a chance to develop the role to its best.
Your qualifications
Being responsible for Group Procurement, you are not only a manager, but also you are a leader and we search for someone that can act as a role model to create involvement and engagement within the wide network of your responsibility area. In this role of being a leader your skills in communication will be important. Co-operation within the global network (for example divisional procurement units, group sustainability function, supply chain / logistics, IT function) requires abilities to understand business models and big picture.
You have several years of experience from procurement, working with sustainability, system/ process/business development. Working with cross-functional responsibilities is something you see motivating and inspiring. As a person, you are a team player with integrity and great social skills, which together with your competence make you a great colleague to work with. Through your solid experience, you have an independent, method driven and results-orientated way of working.
In addition to working strategically, you need to be a pragmatic doer who thrives in helping hands-on to get things done. Your analytical skills will be a key competence in succeeding in this position and you do not mind deep diving into details to get a full understanding. You are used to working in an international environment with different kinds of stakeholders and travelling is not a hinder for you.
We expect you to have a Master's or Bachelor’s degree in economics or technology. You have very good written and spoken English skills and have professional skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
