Group Purchasing Manager
The Group Purchasing Manager will be a key actor in our strategic development to accelerate transformation to a more innovative and user-centric offering, bridged by technology, our product portfolio and utilizing back-end size and standardization. The objective for the position is, together with your team, to create a modern and effective purchasing department. Your team is located in Wielen, Poland and Stigamo, Jönköping and Tyssenboten Norway. You will be reporting to our Business Development and Innovation Director as part of the BD&I Management Team. The position and role of Group Purchasing Manager is of great strategic importance to the Group, and you will be working closely together with the Group Management Team.
Main responsibilities
You will lead and implement an effective sourcing strategy in line with the Group’s vision, goals and strategic framework together with your team. You will secure supply in accordance with strategic and corporate planning, i.e., the right products at the right time at the right prices, qualities, terms, and conditions. It is important that you nurture a culture based on a clear business focus and collaboration within purchasing and the BD&I organization. You have a key role to influence and contribute to new ways of thinking and acting to new opportunities for purchasing, the BD&I team and the full group. This also involves contributing to and driving supplier and material related aspects stated in the Group Sustainability Agenda.
You will be responsible for Group spend appx 400mSEK and budget responsible to drive and deliver cost efficiency and value creation objectives. It is also important that you keep abreast of market development and supplier possibilities and partnerships, identify new sourcing opportunities, technologies and/or innovations. As responsible for strategic sourcing, you and your team will be involved in the entire value chain, already from an early stage in concept and product development processes within the Group through cross- functional collaboration with Category Management, R&D, Sales, and Supply Chain. You and your lead buyers will support with input on commercial potential from a material and sourcing point of view, but also from an innovation perspective by presenting new and interesting vendors, materials and/or production and sourcing opportunities.
Background and career profile
To become successful in this position, you should have a degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Supply Chain Management and be fluent in English. Swedish proficiency is qualifying but not a requirement. You have a proven and successful track record as Purchasing Manager of a similar-sized buying volume and will ideally have operated in an industry related to automotive industry or other durable consumer goods.
You have documented good business acumen and, as a manager, experience of leading and developing employees, both individually and in teams. You are good at creating and implementing new ways of working and persistently and pedagogically driving and leading shared ways of working. Experience of change management involving people, processes and culture will be considered as a plus. Work experience from international business with daily operative interaction in several countries and different culture is essential.
You have high personal integrity, and a good ability to think and work strategically. It is important that you are a team player and a value-driven professional. Your social and communicative skills in your contacts with suppliers, employees, and virtually anyone who crosses your path, is great importance in order for you to become successful in this position.
