What You Will Do
• Be a global leader in building embedded software solutions, at the heart of Ericsson’s most advanced telecom products.
• Align requirements with product teams that will be used across an array of products. Areas include Embedded Linux Yocto distributions, containerized applications, Linux device drivers, etc.
• Line management of team of highly skilled and geographically dispersed embedded Linux system software engineers, and telecom hardware experts.
• Lead software design, testing and development for multiple Yocto-based Linux embedded distributions including base O.S., BSPs, Device Drivers, and relevant applications.
• Lead career growth and personal development of team members.
• Lead performance management, incl. goal setting and annual evaluations
• Ensure clear communication with other functional groups and product development teams.
• Align team priorities to the business needs and roadmaps within a global organization.
• Resource and budget planning.
• Collaboratively develop software and system concepts and long-term plans for future Ericsson products.
• Establish and develop operating procedures and work in close alignment with the global R&D organization.
The Skills You Bring
• M.S. Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience and proficiency in open source community norms and behaviors; such as Linux kernel development, and associated system tool communities
• Several years of experience working in an embedded Linux environment.
• Several years of experience managing and growing highly effective teams of talented systems engineers and software developers (line management).
• Experience in managing the development of embedded Linux distributions including Yocto, BSPs, and kernel device drivers is a plus
• Experience working with new silicon introduction in embedded Linux environments. Working with silicon vendors to adapt reference designs and tests to specific, custom hardware implementations
• Experience with Ericsson product development including familiarity with methodology and processes
